As one of the most popular and eye-catching varieties of Pothos, Neon Pothos (Epipremnum Aureum 'Neon') are low-fuss houseplants that are sure to brighten up any corner of your home.

Native to the tropical Solomon Islands, this stunning variety of Pothos is characterized by neon green, heart-shaped leaves and a vining growth habit. The best part is, neon pothos are easy to care for—making them great for beginners or those with notoriously green fingers.

How to root your Neon Pothos cutting

Pothos is one of the easiest indoor plants to propagate and you can choose to root your cutting directly in soil, water or in your choice of propagation substrate such as sphagnum moss, fern fibre, leca etc.

Water propagation is the fastest and easiest way to root your Neon Pothos cutting. Fill your glass or jar with filtered water or allow the tap water to sit out in the open for a while to let the chlorine dissipate. Submerge the lower 1-2 nodes of your pothos cutting in the water with the leaves up above. Make sure that no leaves are touching the water as this could lead to rot.

Then, place in a warm spot that receives plenty of bright, indirect light (no direct sun though) and change the water regularly until the roots are at least an inch long and your cutting is ready to be planted in soil.

Plant care

Water / Humidity: This plant is very drought tolerant, so water sparingly, especially in the winter. Let the first 4-6 cm of soil dry fully between waterings. Tolerant with normal room humidity conditions.

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal, but also tolerant of lower light conditions (will grow slower).

Soil / Nutrients: Well draining soil. You can apply a few drops of general houseplant fertilizer to the soil once a month from spring to summer, reduce nutrients during autumn and winter.

Temperature: The range of 12 - 25°C is ideal.
